My School

I chose to teach at a primary school because I'm very fond with children. With the experience I had from my previous school, I also felt comfortable to teach for another year at a primary school. The thought before of moving to Madrid was exciting. I was sure I'd get a different experience especially that Madrid is huge compared to my previous assigned area before which was a small city.

"The CEBIP Antonio Machado Educational Project is summarized with 4 fundamental pillars:
  • Solid Coexistence Plan : Including the " Educate To be " Research Project Cooperative Learning in the classrooms and a whole series of complementary activities aimed at coexistence and good relationship between the members of the Educational Community.
  • Bet on active methodologies . Students are the true protagonists of their learning process; For this reason, the methodology by which we bet in the College is Project Based Learning .
  • Development of the student's digital competence . With the acquisition of devices such as iPads and Chromebooks, we want our students not only to acquire a digital competence to know how to handle different applications and devices, but also to develop skills for a "digital citizenship".
  • "Opening of doors" of the Center to the collaboration of families and the entire Educational Community. "

The school that I am assigned to is CEBIP Antonio Machado. It's in Majadahonda, Madrid. The school offers classes from infantil year to 6th grade of primary. It has been a bilingual school since 2005.

We are 5 language assistants assigned in Antonio Machado. All of us are assigned to different year levels. I  mainly work with 1st,2nd, and 3rd graders.I can say that throughout the months, I am very much happy with my classes and my workmates. Choosing where to live was challenging as most of the people I know chose to live in the center. Knowing myself, I chose to live close to school. I live in Majadahonda and it was a good choice for me to live close to work.

I feel really grateful to have amazing workmates. Amazing is an understatement. I am totally grateful that I work with dedicated teachers who also treats me very well. I also enjoy our "break times" where teachers gather at the food hall because it allowed me to not only know the teachers I work with but also the rest of the faculty. One thing that I love about my school is that the teachers are very much involved to the school's activities. From projects, presentations to decorating the school.
