Final Project
My final project is about Animals and I will be narrowing my topic to the
" BODY PARTS OF THE VERTEBRATES AND THE USE OF HAS/HAVE GOT. "
In this project, I have decided to combine Science and English (these are the subjects that I mainly teach).
Objective
For kids to learn about Vertebrates and especially the different parts/characteristics of each group.
This activity also aims the students to be able to use properly HAS/HAVE GOT(+/-).
Moreover, for kids to be able to improve teamwork, enhance their creativity and speaking skills.
I will present a presentation about the topic.
The presentation (as shown below) will also include the instructions for the activity.
This is the flow of the presentation:
- Introduction of the 5 Groups of Vertebrates
- A short video about Vertebrates
- Pictionary of Common different parts of animals (can serve as vocabulary for students as well)
- Parts & Characteristics of the Vertebrates (according to group)
- Intro to the Grammar Lesson of has/have got.
- Activity Time
Activity Guidelines
Each group will randomly pick 3 animals and describe them in class using what they've learned from the presentation with a visual aid (poster)
Each group will be given time to discuss and plan among their team members.
They will be asked to present after 4 meetings (enough time for them to prepare)
e.g. Monday- Powerpoint Presentation, Friday- will be their presentation.
I will give them 15 minutes to work on their project every day before their presentation.
In this way, the kids will learn to use their time wisely (time management).
This is the powerpoint presentation that will be used :
